Sculptor Don Justin Meserve, who influenced a generation of Maine artists, died on November 3, 2010. Don dedicated his career to exploring narrative and abstract themes in a variety of media. His work reflects a love of the sculptural process and a hands-on approach informed by an American industrial design education with post-graduate European craft training. A working artist for over forty years, Don developed a formidable mastery of materials, particularly wood, metal and stone.
