Don Justin Meserve

Maine-based sculptor Don Justin Meserve explores narrative and abstract themes in a variety of media. His work reflects a love of the sculptural process, a hands-on approach and technical skills informed by his American industrial design education and post-graduate European craft training. A working artist for over forty years, Don has developed a formidable mastery of materials, particularly those associated with traditional sculpture: wood, metal and stone.

Stations of the Cross: Through His Eyes opens on Ash Wednesday at this landmark church near Ground Zero in lower Manhattan. Don Justin Meserve’s fourteen bas-relief panels offer a radical interpretation of the traditional Passion narrative for personal contemplation. His basalt boats, on display for the first time in New York, complement the Lenten experience of a personal journey. For information: trinitywallstreet.org
